Barron's Family Came to Town

Elsa RhaeComment

It's always a blast when Barron's family comes to visit. They're continuously supportive of our lifestyle choices, so much so that they'll even participate!

In February they made the 2 day drive in a rental car from Kansas City to western Arizona. They came bearing FOOD IN ENDLESS SUPPLY and at the end of the day, blew up an air-mattress, stuck it in the back of the rental and car camped!

Over Memorial Day Weekend they came and car camped again with us in Colorado, bringing along Barron's younger brother!

We made new adventure friends (human and dog) over the weekend. Mike, Esther and their dog, Bruce, joined the party.

No Place Like Home

Colorado feels good. It's the land of mountains, outdoor adventurers, public showers for said adventurers and a spirit unlike anywhere I've ever been. I am at home here in the Rockies.

Own the Day, Own your LIFE

A book by Aubrey Marcus.

Barron and I are on an awesome journey with the book, "Own the Day, Own Your Life," documenting our learnings chapter by chapter through video. This book is a wealth of knowledge we've been able to apply to all areas of our lives. I recommend it to all those in my sphere of influence and am having a blast visually re-creating each chapter with Barron.

The Best Earth Day Birthday

The day was EPIC. We drove an hour to The Promised Land, north of Prescott, AZ, slowly inching our way off road over 2 miles of rocks and ruts. To the unknowing eye, this place looks like a barren land of rocky hills, but "The Promised Land" lies in the middle of a deep canyon that can only be accessed by foot.

I treated myself to a nearly new (used once and only $100 on craigslist!) climbing rope that we christened in style on some of the best rock we've ever climbed. Smooth and solid with lots of friction.

That's me! My first outdoor 5.10b!

We left The Promised Land alongside families of Pronghorn. We picked up a bottle of wine and called it a night after a couple warm showers in the cold night time air. The day was awesome, this life is awesome.
